Antique Eastman Kodak No. 2 Film Pack Hawk-Eye camera, made in Rochester, New York and dating from approximately 1922–1925.
This is now a camera approaching 100 years old, featuring an all-metal box-style body, fixed-focus meniscus lens and mechanical rotary shutter.
The camera itself is in near mint cosmetic condition, presenting exceptionally well for its age with very little evidence of previous use.
The shutter has been tested and is working, operating on both its instantaneous and time-exposure settings.
It comes with its original box and instruction booklet. Please note that the box is showing signs of age and wear, as would be expected given its age.
The camera has not been film tested. It was designed to use Kodak No. 520 film packs, an obsolete sheet-film pack format which is no longer manufactured. It does not use ordinary 120 or 620 roll film.
The camera is still potentially usable by an experienced photographer using a suitable original film-pack holder adapted or reloaded with modern sheet film, although this is a specialist process rather than normal film loading.
The No. 2 Film Pack Hawk-Eye produces large 2¼ × 3¼ inch photographs.
It is completely mechanical and does not require batteries.
A particularly attractive and unusually well-preserved example of an early Kodak camera, ideal for a vintage camera collection, photographic display or period prop.
