A classic West German medium-format camera manufactured by Balda Bünde and introduced around 1956.
The Baldixette uses standard 120 roll film and produces large 6 × 6cm square negatives, giving 12 photographs from a standard roll of 120 film.
It features a Balda-Bünde Baldar 72mm f/9 lens with two aperture settings of f/9 and f/16. Focusing is manual, with simple distance symbols designed to make everyday photography straightforward.
The lens is mounted on an unusual spring-loaded telescoping tube. Pressing the release on the camera body allows the lens assembly to extend ready for use.
The camera is completely mechanical and requires no batteries.
